Well, we were about to find out. We ran over to the other end of Valley to see if the rack train would continue on. They stopped by the yard office, we assume to grab some paperwork. While we were about ready to continue east toward Cincinnati again, we noticed that the 2nd shift CIND Local Job must have gone OD, as the geep was gone again. With the Greensburg run done for the day, and knowing that they usually worked North Bend and Addyston on second shift, but with the rack train in their way it would be impossible to go east, we decided to take a major gamble and see if they were up at West Harrison at Seimer Mills. This is the last active stretch of the original IORY between Brookville and Valley Junction. and I had been trying to catch a train on this section of track for as long as I can remember. While heading up to Harrison, we noticed that there was a Kilby stone train parked at Melvin Stone with a pair of patched Dash 9s. Would have been pretty awesome to see this move too, but it was clear that it probably wouldnt be for a few days at least. |
